Simon you’re an absolute gem mate! You saved me when I arrived at Brooklyn boat ramp (almost outside of business hours) having found my trailer bearings were gone. Thank you very much, will definitely be in touch again. =)

Vehicle Maintenance FAQs

How often should I get my oil changed?
For a long time and sometimes still today, standard practice at many garages is to suggest oil changes every six months or 10,000 kms in normal conditions. In order to know when the best time to get your oil changed is, check the owner’s manual of your specific model for manufacturer-recommended intervals.
How often should I change my vehicles timing belt?
Since the timing belt has such an important job, it's crucial to have it replaced regularly. In most cases, there is no indication that a timing belt is becoming worn. Often times, it just breaks. That's why most manufacturers recommend you have your vehicle's timing belt replaced every 100,000 to 160,000 kilometres.
Do I need to charge my battery after I jump-start my vehicle?
It’s usually best to drive your car for about half an hour to charge a car battery. This is often enough time for charging so that the vehicle will start again once you turn it off. You should drive a little longer if your battery has been dead for a while, and you want to make sure the battery doesn’t die again. You need to make sure your battery is in good condition to stay safe on the road and avoid accidents. Ensuring that your battery will run for the duration of your trip can help you reach your destination without further complications.
How do I know when I need new brakes?
There are two ways to check for brake wear on disc brakes: by looking and by listening. First, check for wear by looking at your brake pads through the spaces between the wheel's spokes. The outside pad will be pressed against a metal rotor. Generally, there should be at least 1/4 inch of pad. If you see less than 1/4 inch of pad, you may want to have your brake pads inspected or replaced. Have you ever heard a high-pitched screeching sound when you applied your brakes? That's a small metal shim, called an indicator, which is giving you an audible warning that you need to replace your brake pads. You should be aware of this sound (which is loud enough to be heard while the windows are up, but not necessarily loud enough to be heard over the radio or air conditioner). If you hear it regularly, quickly make an appointment with your mechanic.
